I remember months ago, I’ve asked you guys on my Instagram @nada.nourr if you wanted me to do a review about Rimmel Magnif’eyes Spice Edition Palette, and a lot of you said YES. So here I am, giving you a full honest review about this amazing palette.
Rimmel Magnif’eyes Spice Edition Palette is a total stunner at first glance. This palette is also a drugstore dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette! So if you’ve been wanting the palette but didn’t want to spend that much money on it, then this Rimmel palette will be perfect for you! I don’t own the Naked Heat palette but if you compare the shades and swatches of each palette you can definitely see the resemblance! You can buy the Rimmel Magnif’eyes Eyeshadow Spice Edition Palette at Walmart or Target for about $8!
The Spice Edition palette has a mix of 7 mattes and 5 shimmers mostly in the red and orange toned color range!
The shadows are housed in a plastic packaging. While the packaging is nothing out of this world, it is not terrible either. Nothing else can be expected when the product itself is so affordable. The Rimmel Magnif’eyes Spice Edition Palette is a 12-shade eyeshadow palette with a double-ended applicator that you can use to create multiple, expert looks! Well, you cannot do much with that applicator. But, it’s fine, you can use your own brushes!
Rimmel is one of the several brands that have made affordable palettes with great pigmentation. These eyeshadows, when swatched, take a lot of building up. When used on the eyes, it is the same story. With a brush, the mattes show up well on the eyes. The shimmers are a little on the disappointing side – they give more of a sheen on the eyes than a shimmer or a metallic finish. BUT. The story changes a little bit when you use a primer, a white base or you wet the shadows. Any and all of these methods take the pigmentation of the shadow to the next level. I’m so impressed with the pigmentation of every single shade in this palette, including the lighter shades, which can sometimes be a bit of a miss. I also love that the light, white shade isn’t chalky!
One of the biggest pros of this palette is that the blendability is excellent. I have no complaints in this regard. These shadows glide on like butter. The matte shadows are smooth, soft and easily blendable, while the shimmers are almost creamy and definitely bold.
Another very redeeming quality about the Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Spice Edition Palette is the amazing staying power of the shadows even without a primer. In fact, I am one of those lazier people who don’t take the time to prime the eyes. Even so, these shadows have stayed on me morning through evening throughout a full school/working day. They can last all day on you and still look great at the end of the day!
