The new Prada Fall 2019 collection is such a beautiful, bad romance. It is a continuation of Prada previous menswear 2019 collection theme; the theme of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. I’m not sure if the inspiration got from Lady Gaga’s song “Bad Romance” or something else, but all the models looked so gothic and classy at the same time, with Wednesday Addams braids and bleached blonde eyebrows. I personally think that this collection represented a new and beautiful melancholic image of love, a fearless bold love, to be exact.
Miuccia Prada brought so much softness and sensuality to this collection: she added lace panels, beautiful cocktail dresses and flowers patterns which made the collection so romantic and simply stunning. However, Miuccia wanted to add a little bit of a dark bold gothic vibe to her collection so she brought military codes, military jackets and some pretty dark colors.
The set design was also perfect for the fashion collection theme: it was an industrial metal runway lined with glowing lightbulbs that referenced the lovelorn antihero.
Apparently, making dresses in this collection was a challenge for Miuccia Prada. She said: “Dresses don’t come easily to me. If they are too sexy they don’t work for me; If they are too clichéd they don’t work for me….I made the effort [to not] put together existing pieces. So I have worked much more than usual.” But don’t worry Miuccia, the dresses were so evocative and satisfying.
So I’ve collected for you my top 5 favorite looks from Prada Fall 2019 collection, the ones that I liked the most:
The model wearing a black long coat with a belt centered in the middle of her waist, with black classic pants.
The model was wearing an olive military green jacket with a lot of zippers and two pockets in the front that look like small bags. The pants were also in same color and fabric, matching the top.
The model is wearing a bright white shirt and skirt, splashed with bright, giant pink and yellow flowers.
The model is wearing a black long dress that looked at the same time classy but street style. This whole combination was paired with some red glittery pumps and flower earrings. This look is simply extra, I love it!
Manly and feminine, just what I like! The model is wearing a black suit that looks so professional with a belt centering her waist. That’s what I call a look!
